Two Hoots and A Holler: Deck the Halls

Hoot #1
Thanksgiving and Black Friday have now passed, so it is time to let the Christmas Madness begin!  We have come back from break, and we hit the ground running to get all of our Christmas projects and end of the semester assessments completed in time.  We only have 2 more weeks of school before we get out for Christmas break!!  YIKES!!!  Check out some of our projects we have been working on...

Here are some ornaments the kids have made, and we hung on the tree.  We usually make the Rudolph from popsicle sticks, the Christmas tree from popsicle sticks, the snowmen hand print, and the Santa hand print.  There may be more, depends on if time allows us to make more.
We tried gingerbread men cookies, and we graphed what part of the cookie we ate first.  Tomorrow, we are going to build a gingerbread house for our gingerbread men!  By the end of the day tomorrow, we will have 44 gingerbread houses decorated and ready to send home! Talk about a busy day!!

The Jitterbugs made toy soldiers to line up down our hallway as the kiddos walk down the kindergarten hall.  Look how cute these are!!

Unfortunately, we will not be able to do our weekly blog post next week because we will be at RON CLARK ACADEMY (sorry, not sorry)!!!!!!!  OH MY GOODNESS!!! We are so excited to get to go see what everyone keeps talking about.  It is going to be an amazing, mind-blowing experience.  We absolutely cannot wait to get to tell everyone what we saw and learned, that is if we are calm enough by then to be able to put it all into words!  We are so blessed to have the chance to go visit RCA.  We started this blog together 2 years ago.  Over the past 2 years Kinder Glitter Girls have been on some amazing adventures together, met TONS of awesome teachers, and learned so much along the way.....and now we finally and actually get to go to Ron Clark Academy for 2 days!  It seems like a dream!   Jamie, get your red pen ready...this time next week you will be able to check this off of our bucket list!!  Stay tuned for pics and our latest adventure!

This Week's Holler...
This week's holler goes out to Elizabeth Hall over at Kick' It In Kindergarten.  She is a kindergarten teacher and presenter who is creative and excited to share and collaborate with other teachers.  We LOVE her "in my fur ring" idea! Go check out her blog to see what it is all about and check out her latest products on TPT!  She really has some awesome stuff that is now in our wish list!  Thanks Elizabeth for your dedication to teaching!

Two Hoots and A Holler: Great Things Are Happening!

 Hoot #1
This past week Jamie had the chance to go to Nashville to watch her daughter play high school basketball in the TSSAA State Championship game, and they won!

Jamie's daughter, Mason, is number 12.
The game was televised, as I was sitting at home watching the game, I see my partner in crime going wild on the screen!
It was so awesome!

I immediately text her to let her know that I saw her on TV.  I should have known Jamie would have something up her sleeve when she texts back, "keep watching, I have a surprise!"  I keep watching, and the next thing I know this is what I see....
Yup, that's my girl sending me a message!  I have laughed at this all week.  She sure knows how to have a good time!  There is never a dull moment with her in my life, and I love this about Jamie!  I wouldn't change it for the world!
Her message was written on a napkin, and of course she had to put a Glitter Girl shout out on there!

We found out this past week that we have been accepted to present at the Making Connections Conference this summer in Biloxi, MS.  This is the same conference that we presented at last summer.  We had SO much fun collaborating with other teachers across our state!  We look forward to presenting on "How to Make the Most of Your Day in Kindergarten".

This Week's Holler...

She is a first grade teacher in Tennessee. Latoya has some wonderful idea! We love her movie themed classroom.  She also has something for your every need in her TPT store! Be sure to go and check her out!

Two Hoots and A Holler: Two Road Trips in One Week!

Hoot #1
We got to spend this weekend with some great people!  We went to Nashville to the End of the Year Nashville Bash Blogger & Teacher Meet Up.  We had a blast down in the south meeting up with some of the best educators in the world!

We first met up at Atmalogy! We caught up with old friends and met new ones!
Then it was time to eat some good ole southern food! BBQ, baked beans, macaroni and cheese (that was to die for!), corn muffins, and sweet tea were eaten by all! We left totally stuffed!
Smorgie came for a visit and a glass of sweet tea!

And then, it was....PICTURE TIME!!
Meet our friend Annie, the photo bomber (lol),  at
rideawaywithmrsrigeway.blogspot.com
Two thumbs up for Nash Bash 2015
Simpson's Superstars

Our friend Dana who helped get this wonderful bash together. We gave her a holler last week, she is truly amazing!  What a blast we had hanging out with her!

Some of our bestest buddies came from Texas!  We couldn't wait to hug the necks of All Ya'll Need! We decided this group picture should be labeled, All Ya'll Glitter Girls!

Finally, it was prize time!  Amy from All Ya'll Need need won a ESGI year subscription for her entire grade!! Super Jealous, but so happy for her!
That night, we gathered at Opryland Hotel to mingle for a bit.

Sunday, we woke up bright and early to have breakfast at Monell's, which was absolutely amazing, and to say goodbye to all of our friend.  We said a special goodbye to our friend Greg @The Kindergarten Smorgasboard.  Thanks to everyone who hosted this awesome event!
 It was wonderful event!
Until next time my friends!!

We were blessed enough to attend and PRESENT (Yes! We said present!) at the Making Connections Conference in Biloxi, MS. We presented Kindergarten 101 to a great group of educators.  This was a HUGE step for us because we aren't used to talking to adults, but we did it.  We presented 2 days in a row, and we are so thankful we were given this opportunity to reach out to others.  We can't wait until the next one!!

The teachers even stayed around afterwards to ask questions and get more info!! How exciting!!

Congratulations to our winners of a 1 year subscriptions to ESGI!  We know that you will love it!  Thank you ESGI for supporting teachers throughout Mississippi!  Our recipients were so excited they won this, one even said she almost cried when she heard her name!

Big Thanks to Knowledge Tree in Horn Lake, MS! Thanks to you, these lovely ladies went home with a bag full of goodies!!

These two ladies went home with our newest item on TPT!
Thank you Fiskars out of Southaven, MS for donating these scissors for this teacher and her students!!
Big thanks to our wonderful co-worker, photographer, and friend, Danielle Abner!  She is the original Glitter Girl Groupie!!

This Week's Holler...
This week we want to holler at Kimberly Bassett at Loving Kinders.  This girl is so passionate about teaching kinders!  She makes you just want to jump up and start creating!! We love the lastest post where she shares her top 3 secrets!  Be sure to check this girl out!!
